RESOURCE / BUSINESS IT CHECKLIST

What to bring to an IT consultation

A short checklist to make your first technology conversation useful.

1. Start with the work

Describe what your people do each day and where technology gets in the way. A few concrete examples are more useful than a list of products you think you need.

2. List the essentials

Bring a rough count of users, devices and locations, along with your main software and providers. Include who currently manages Microsoft 365, internet service, backups and business applications.

3. Share the priorities

Explain upcoming changes: new hires, an office move, a software replacement or recurring issues. Identify any deadlines and the business impact of an interruption.

4. Keep credentials private

Do not email passwords, recovery codes or sensitive client information. If access is needed later, agree on a secure process and the permissions required.
