1. Define the service scope
Ask which users, devices, locations and systems are covered. Monitoring, administration and support are different responsibilities; make sure the proposal explains each one.
2. Understand additional work
Review setup fees, licensing, project costs and hourly or consulting charges. A monthly plan does not automatically mean every future request is included.
3. Ask about ownership
Establish who handles alerts, user requests, approvals, vendor issues and changes. If you have an internal IT person, include them in the conversation.
4. Review the agreement
Confirm billing, cancellation and transition arrangements. Choose a recommendation based on the needs of your business and the responsibilities you want your provider to take on.
